Beach Holidays in Sri Lanka
Over 1000 miles of sun-kissed pristine, golden hued, sandy beaches surround the island of Sri Lanka. Being close to the equator the Indian ocean waters are warm averaging 27 C temperature 12-months of the year. The surf however differs according to location. Gentle waters are found at the beach resorts of Negombo, Bentota & Beruwela, Ahungalle. The beaches on the eastern coast of Trincomalee are magnificent and placid especially during summer months whilst the south-east coasts of Arugam Bay is popular for surfing its rolling surf and large waves, a favorite of surf-boarders.
Negombo:
Originally a Portuguese fishing village, Negombo has similarities with Goa India, and has lovely golden sandy beach with gentle waves. It is the nearest beach resort to the international airport within average 20-minutes drive, outside the busy city of Colombo. To Colombo it is only 60-minutes and a hot favorite for exotic seafood cuisine.

Ahungalle:
South-west coast of Sri Lanka, Ahungalle is an uncrowded fishing village with warm ocean and gentle waves 3 - hours from international airport, 45-minutes from The World Heritage Dutch era Galle Fort city

South-west coast of Sri Lanka, Beruwela has white sandy beaches, a gentle surf, and is popular for water sports. Transfer from airport is about 90-minutes.
Bentota:
Bentota, on the south-west coast of Sri Lanka, has incredible sandy beach, gentle surf and is popular for water sports. Transfer from airport is about 2.5 hours
